Prototype designs are usually in matte finish. Assuming these pics are true, I have no doubts that the final product will be in a gloss finish. Looking at Sony's current design trend, they seem to like the glossy surface. In fact most modern hardware these days sport the shiny look.
IMO, the glossy PS3 easier to clean than the PS2.

More missions of the same thing isn't the full experience. Majority of GTA gamers don't even even finish the game at 100%. I rather have San Andreas diverse gameplay over GTA4's repetitive missions any day.

That steering wheel looks just as generic as Wii accessories. The Logitech G25 wheel (or if your on a budget, the DFPro) is the only way to go.

Gears of War isn't worth mentioning as a graphical achievement anymore. It was an achievement in 2006 for consoles, but not so much now. PS3 exclusives literally stomp on that game.
EDIT: Gears of War 1 looks better than GeoW 2. Fact.
Sony will never confirm that its real. Early announcements of hardware revisions will slow the sales of current *fat* PS3's. You know how people are with redesigns.
